We’re looking for a versatile researcher with a background in Chemistry or Biochemistry to join our team to assist with novel product development, material microstructure analysis, feedstock composition analysis and improvement of our existing production methods.
A background in polymer chemistry, analytical chemistry, or synthetic biology is ideal.
Apply material characterization and process analytical expertise to evaluate the composition, structure, and properties of materials
Characterize reaction rates, structure/property relationships and cross-linking densities
Plan experiments and reach data-driven conclusions
Run and analyze standard material tests
Assist the team leader in establishing project objectives related to formulation workflows and provide estimated timelines
Coordinate with team in planning experiments to meet the project deadlines
Communicate the progress and data analysis in the form of technical reports
Evaluate and recommend adoption of new technologies
Maintain lab safety and provide safety guidance to researchers in the lab
Skills & Requirements
MSc Chemistry/Biochemistry minimum, exceptional BSc applicants considered
Well-developed independent research skills
Significant lab experience
Strong background in polymer materials, polymer physics, morphology, rheology, molecular weight, solubilities, or physical/ mechanical properties of polymers
Understanding of structure/property relationships, and experience with the interactions between various materials and crosslinking systems
Experience with microbiology and synthetic biology
Ability to work in fast-paced startup environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
Effective written and oral communication skills
Knowledge of coatings and catalytic chemistry would be a plus
