Award[s] and Commendation[s]

At Chip[s] Board® we are proud of where we have come in a short amount of time and believe that what we are doing can help change the world for good. Below are a few awards and commendations we have received that reflect the work we are doing.

Makerversity, Makers with a Mission Residency

Makers with a Mission supports emerging talent, extra-ordinary ideas and new businesses taking their first steps into the world. Through this residency Makers will gain access to studio desk space, workshops and machines, a thriving creative community and business support events. Alongside this, makers will get the opportunity to showcase work to the public through our program.

Incubator Award for Innovation, Applied Works Residency

The incubator programme launched in the 3rd year of the graphic design degree course, when students were challenged to look for the economic or social value of one of their projects. Asked to define the business opportunity and route to market, before refining their product, marketing strategy and brand identity. They then pitched their ideas to peers, before critiquing and developing them into more fully-fledged propositions for pitches to well established designers.

Mike Bond Award for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

After 15 years as a Senior Lecturer in graphic design, Mike Bond launched his own student design award for strategic design thinking. The Mike Bond Award encourages and rewards entrepreneurial spirit and strategic thinking in design.
